Can glasses are the latest trend in eco-friendly drinkware. These glasses are shaped like a can, come with a bamboo lid and a straw, and are perfect for outdoor adventures, picnics, or just lounging by the pool. My fav is having iced coffees in them. Just see here!
Making a can glass with vinyl is an easy cricut project that you can DIY. Here's how:
Materials:
- Blank can glass
- Vinyl wrap or adhesive vinyl
- Scissors
- Ruler or measuring tape
- Transfer tape
- Your favourite design or text
Steps:
- Clean the can thoroughly and let it dry completely. Once dry, wipe the outside with rubbing alcohol.
- Cut the vinyl wrap using your cricut machine. Make it into a rectangular piece that is long enough to wrap around the can, with an extra 2cm each side.
- Weed the design or text. I like to use the reverse weeding method
- Use transfer paper to apply the vinyl wrap to the glass. Start at the bottom and smooth the vinyl up to the top of the can, making sure there are no air bubbles.
Your new can glass is now ready to be used! The vinyl adds a pop of colour and personality to your can, and makes it the perfect accessory for your next outdoor adventure.
